Position Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled and talented Trombonist to join our vibrant and dynamic entertainment and performing arts organization. As a Trombonist, you will be responsible for performing exceptional music compositions on the trombone, contributing to live performances, studio recording sessions, and other artistic endeavors. Responsibilities:
- Mastering a wide range of musical compositions and arrangements on the trombone.
- Collaborating with musicians, conductors, and music directors to rehearse and perform diverse musical genres, including classical, jazz, contemporary, and popular music.
- Participating in live performances, concerts, and other public events, both individually and as part of an ensemble.
- Adhering to the director's vision and musical interpretations, while bringing creativity and individuality to performances.
- Demonstrating exceptional technical skills, including embouchure control, slide technique, intonation, and articulation.
- Practicing diligently to maintain and improve musical proficiency, while staying up-to-date with current musical trends and styles.
- Participating in recording sessions for albums, soundtracks, commercials, and other music-related productions.
- Collaborating with composers and arrangers to develop and enhance musical compositions specifically tailored for the trombone.
- Assisting in the maintenance and care of trombone instruments, including routine cleaning, maintenance, and repairs.
- Actively engaging in professional development opportunities to expand musical knowledge and skills.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Music Performance, Trombone, or a related field.
- Proven experience as a professional trombonist, with a strong portfolio showcasing versatility and technical proficiency.
- Thorough knowledge of music theory, sight-reading, and ensemble performance techniques.
- Proficiency in playing diverse musical genres, including classical, jazz, contemporary, and popular music.
- Exceptional musicianship skills, with the ability to interpret and express musical compositions effectively.
- Strong ability to collaborate and work harmoniously with other musicians, conductors, and music directors.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and non-verbal, to convey musical ideas and interpretations effectively.
- Self-motivated and disciplined, with a strong work ethic and a commitment to continuous improvement.
- Flexibility to adapt to changing performance schedules and travel as required.
