Job Summary:
The Biostatistician is responsible for designing, implementing, and analyzing statistical models and methodologies to support medical research studies in the field of Healthcare and Medicine. The incumbent will collaborate closely with the research team to provide expert statistical guidance, conduct data analysis, and contribute to the interpretation and reporting of research findings. The Biostatistician plays a critical role in ensuring accurate and reliable statistical analysis of healthcare data to facilitate evidence-based decision-making.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Design and implement statistical methodologies to support research studies, clinical trials, and epidemiological investigations.
2. Collaborate with interdisciplinary research teams to develop appropriate study designs, sample size calculations, and data analysis plans.
3. Conduct statistical analyses using advanced statistical software packages, ensuring accuracy and adherence to research protocols.
4. Perform data cleaning, validation, and transformation procedures to ensure data integrity and quality.
5. Develop and validate statistical models to analyze complex healthcare data, including survival analysis, regression analysis, and longitudinal data analysis.
6. Provide expertise in statistical methodologies to interpret research findings, identify trends, and draw meaningful conclusions.
7. Generate clear and concise reports, summaries, and visualizations of statistical analyses to facilitate communication of research results.
8. Stay updated with advancements in statistical methodologies and healthcare research to ensure the application of best practices.
9. Collaborate with external partners and regulatory bodies to ensure compliance with relevant guidelines and regulations.
10. Contribute to the preparation of research grant proposals, study protocols, and manuscripts for publication in scientific journals.
Skills and Qualifications:
1. Master's or Ph.D. degree in Biostatistics, Statistics, Epidemiology, or a related field.
2. Proven experience as a Biostatistician in a healthcare or medical research setting.
3. Strong proficiency in statistical analysis software (e.g., SAS, R, SPSS) and programming languages (e.g., Python, MATLAB).
4. Solid understanding of statistical methodologies, study designs, and data analysis techniques.
5. Excellent knowledge of clinical trial processes, epidemiology, and healthcare data sources.
6. Proficiency in data cleaning, validation, and transformation techniques.
7. Ability to develop and validate statistical models for complex healthcare data.
8. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail and accuracy.
9. Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, to present complex statistical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
10. Ability to work collaboratively in interdisciplinary teams and manage multiple projects concurrently.
11. Familiarity with regulatory guidelines and ethical considerations in healthcare research.
12. Strong organizational and time management skills to meet project deadlines.
