Job Summary:
The Perfusionist is responsible for operating and managing extracorporeal circulation equipment during cardiac surgeries and other medical procedures requiring cardiopulmonary bypass. They ensure the safe and effective functioning of the patient's circulatory and respiratory systems throughout surgical procedures, contributing to positive patient outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:
- Operate and manage extracorporeal circulation equipment, including heart-lung machines, during cardiac surgeries and other procedures requiring cardiopulmonary bypass
- Monitor and adjust parameters such as blood flow, oxygenation, temperature, and pressure, ensuring optimal patient conditions
- Administer blood products, medications, and anesthetic agents through the perfusion circuit under the direction of the surgeon
- Assess and interpret real-time data from monitoring devices, making appropriate adjustments to maintain physiological balance
- Collaborate with the surgical team to develop and implement appropriate perfusion strategies based on patient needs
- Troubleshoot and resolve equipment malfunctions or deviations, ensuring continuous and safe operation during procedures
- Maintain accurate and comprehensive perfusion records, documenting patient information, procedures performed, and equipment used
- Adhere to established safety protocols and infection control measures, ensuring a sterile and safe environment for patients and staff
- Participate in educational activities to enhance professional knowledge and stay updated on advancements in perfusion techniques and technologies

Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Perfusion Technology or a related field
- Certification as a Perfusionist by the American Board of Cardiovascular Perfusion (ABCP) or equivalent
