Job Description: Reader - Entertainment and Performing Arts (Acting)
Position Overview:
The Reader will be responsible for assisting in the audition process by reading opposite actors during auditions, rehearsals, and scene work. This role requires strong acting skills, a keen understanding of scene analysis, and the ability to provide effective feedback to actors and the casting team.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Read opposite actors during auditions, rehearsals, and scene work to create a realistic and engaging performance experience.
2. Collaborate with casting directors, directors, and producers to understand the vision and requirements of each audition or scene.
3. Analyze scripts and scenes to develop a deep understanding of character motivations, relationships, and objectives.
4. Provide constructive feedback and guidance to actors, helping them enhance their performances.
5. Maintain a professional and supportive atmosphere during auditions and rehearsals.
6. Stay updated on industry trends, new scripts, and emerging acting techniques.
7. Demonstrating flexibility and adaptability to work with a diverse range of actors, directors, and artistic teams.
8. Assist in the evaluation and selection of actors for casting purposes.
9. Attend meetings and rehearsals as required, actively contributing to the creative process.
10. Maintain confidentiality and integrity when handling sensitive information related to the audition process.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
1. Proven experience as an actor in theater, film, or television productions.
2. Exceptional acting skills and the ability to create and sustain engaging characters.
3. Strong understanding of scene analysis, character development, and acting techniques.
4. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to provide effective feedback and work collaboratively with actors and production teams.
5. Adept at taking direction and adapting performance as required.
6. Ability to maintain a high level of focus and emotional availability throughout auditions and rehearsals.
7. A passion for the performing arts and a deep appreciation for the craft of acting.
8. Strong organizational skills and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.

10. Flexibility to work irregular hours, including evenings and weekends, as needed.
