Position: Teacher's Aide/Teaching Assistant

Job Summary:
The Teacher's Aide/Teaching Assistant provides support to the lead teacher in delivering quality education and ensuring a positive learning environment for students. The incumbent will assist with classroom management, instructional activities, and student supervision, while fostering a safe and inclusive atmosphere conducive to learning.
Responsibilities:
1. Collaborate with the lead teacher to provide instructional support and implement lesson plans effectively.
2. Assist in preparing and organizing teaching materials, such as worksheets, visual aids, and educational resources.
3. Support individual students and small groups during classroom activities, ensuring their understanding and engagement.
4. Monitor student behavior and maintain discipline, reinforcing positive behavior and implementing appropriate interventions when required.
5. Assist with classroom organization, including setting up learning centers, arranging furniture, and maintaining a clean and tidy environment.
6. Supervise students during recess, lunch breaks, and field trips, ensuring their safety and well-being at all times.
7. Provide additional support to students with special needs, following individualized education plans (IEPs) and collaborating with relevant professionals.
8. Assist in assessing student progress through observation, informal assessments, and record-keeping.
9. Collaborate with the lead teacher and other staff members to identify and address specific learning needs of students.
10. Communicate effectively with parents and guardians regarding student progress, behavior, and any concerns that may arise.
11. Attend staff meetings, training sessions, and professional development activities as required.
Skills and Qualifications:
1. A minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent qualification is required.
2. Previous experience working as a teacher's aide or teaching assistant is preferred.
3. Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with students, teachers, and parents.
4. Ability to follow instructions and work collaboratively within a team-oriented environment.
5. Patience, empathy, and a genuine interest in supporting students' educational and emotional development.
6. Basic knowledge of instructional strategies and techniques used in early childhood or elementary education.
7. Familiarity with classroom management principles and techniques to maintain a positive learning environment.
8. Ability to adapt and respond appropriately to the diverse needs and abilities of students.
9. Excellent organizational and time management skills to handle multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
10. Proficiency in using technology, including computers, audiovisual equipment, and educational software.
11. Understanding of confidentiality requirements in educational settings.
