Job Summary:
The Librarian is responsible for managing all aspects of library operations and services within an educational institution. Key Responsibilities:

3. Select, evaluate, and maintain a diverse collection of print and digital resources to meet the academic and recreational needs of users.
4. Provide reference and research assistance to students, faculty, and staff, promoting information literacy and critical thinking skills.
5. Collaborate with teaching staff to integrate information literacy concepts into the curriculum and support student learning outcomes.
6. Conduct regular library orientations, workshops, and information literacy sessions to educate users on library resources and services.
7. Stay updated on emerging library technologies, trends, and best practices to enhance library services and user experience.
8. Oversee the library budget, ensuring responsible allocation of funds for collection development, subscriptions, and equipment maintenance.
9. Manage library space, including the arrangement of furniture, displays, and exhibits to create an inviting and functional environment.
10. Supervise library staff and student assistants, providing guidance, training, and performance evaluations.
11. Collaborate with external organizations, vendors, and publishers to foster partnerships and negotiate favorable terms for library resources and services.
12. Stay informed about copyright laws and intellectual property rights, ensuring compliance in library activities.

Qualifications:
1. Master's degree in Library and Information Science (MLIS) or equivalent from an accredited institution.
2. Proven experience working in a library setting, preferably within an educational or academic environment.
3. Strong knowledge of library systems, cataloging standards, and library management software.
4. Proficient in utilizing library databases, electronic resources, and online research tools.
5. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders.
6. Demonstrated ability to provide reference and research assistance to library users.
7. Familiarity with information literacy concepts and the ability to integrate them into instructional sessions.
8. Knowledge of emerging library technologies and trends, with the ability to adapt and implement new tools.
9. Strong organizational skills, with attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
10. Supervisory experience, including staff training, evaluation, and scheduling.
