Job Summary:
The Electrical CAD Designer is responsible for creating and modifying electrical schematics, panel layouts, and wiring diagrams using computer-aided design (CAD) software. The incumbent will collaborate closely with the engineering team to develop accurate and detailed electrical designs for the successful implementation of projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and modify electrical schematics, panel layouts, and wiring diagrams according to project requirements.
- Utilize CAD software to create 2D and 3D drawings of electrical components, ensuring accuracy and adherence to industry standards.
- Collaborate with the engineering team to review project specifications, identify design constraints, and propose innovative solutions.
- Conduct thorough checks and reviews of electrical designs to ensure compliance with safety regulations, quality standards, and project requirements.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, such as mechanical engineers and project managers, to integrate electrical designs into overall project plans.
- Assist in the preparation of technical documentation, including bills of materials (BOMs), specifications, and test procedures.
- Stay updated with industry trends and advancements in electrical design software and tools, making recommendations for process improvements and technology upgrades.
- Communicate regularly with internal stakeholders to provide project updates, address design-related issues, and resolve any challenges that may arise.
- Adhere to project timelines and deliverables, ensuring that all electrical designs are completed within established deadlines.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
- Proven working experience as an Electrical CAD Designer or in a similar role.
- Proficient in using CAD software, such as AutoCAD Electrical, EPLAN Electric P8, or similar tools.
- Strong understanding of electrical engineering principles, concepts, and industry standards.
- In-depth knowledge of electrical components, equipment, and systems.
- Ability to interpret technical drawings, schematics, and specifications.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in designing electrical layouts.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to propose innovative solutions.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills to work with cross-functional teams.
- Familiarity with relevant safety regulations and codes.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize tasks effectively.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
