Job Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Electrician to join our Electrical Engineering team. As an Electrician, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical systems and equipment in compliance with applicable codes and safety standards. This role requires strong technical expertise and attention to detail to ensure efficient and safe operation of electrical systems across our organization.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Install, test, troubleshoot, and repair electrical systems, fixtures, and equipment, including but not limited to power distribution systems, lighting systems, motor control centers, and electrical panels.
2. Interpret electrical blueprints, diagrams, and specifications to determine wiring layouts and conduit requirements.
3. Ensure compliance with local, state, and national electrical codes and safety regulations during all installations, repairs, and maintenance activities.
4. Perform preventive maintenance on electrical systems to ensure optimal performance and minimize downtime.
5. Collaborate with other engineering and maintenance teams to identify and resolve electrical issues and provide technical support as needed.
6. Inspect electrical components, such as transformers, circuit breakers, switches, and motors, to identify defects or hazards and take appropriate corrective actions.
7. Utilize various tools and equipment, such as power tools, testing devices, and voltage meters, to perform electrical tasks accurately and safely.
8. Maintain accurate records of electrical work performed, including repairs, installations, and maintenance activities.
9. Ensure adherence to safety protocols and procedures to prevent accidents, injuries, and electrical hazards.
10. Stay updated with industry trends, technological advancements, and best practices related to electrical systems and equipment.
Qualifications and Skills:
1. High school diploma or equivalent.
2. Completion of an accredited electrician apprenticeship program.
3. Valid electrician license or certification issued by a recognized authority.
4. Proven experience as an Electrician, preferably in an industrial or manufacturing environment.
5. Strong knowledge of electrical systems, equipment, and components.
6. Proficient in interpreting electrical blueprints, diagrams, and technical specifications.
7. Demonstrated ability to effectively troubleshoot and repair electrical systems.
8. Solid understanding of local, state, and national electrical codes and safety regulations.
9. Excellent manual dexterity and physical stamina to perform tasks requiring bending, lifting, and working in confined spaces.
10. Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in performing electrical tasks.
11. Strong problem-solving and analytical skills to identify and resolve electrical issues.
12. Effective communication skills to collaborate with team members and convey technical information clearly.
13. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and as part of a team.
14. Flexibility to work in variable shifts and respond to emergency electrical repair calls.
