Job Description: Zoologist (Veterinary Research)
Position Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Zoologist to join our Veterinary Research team. As a Zoologist, you will be responsible for conducting advanced research in the field of veterinary medicine, with a specific focus on studying animal behavior, physiology, genetics, and ecology. Your findings and contributions will contribute to the advancement of veterinary knowledge and assist in the development of innovative treatment and care practices.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct in-depth research on various animal species, focusing on their behavior, genetics, physiology, and ecology, with the aim of improving veterinary medicine practices.
- Develop and implement research methodologies, including data collection, analysis, and interpretation, to investigate specific research questions and hypotheses.
- Plan and execute field studies, laboratory experiments, and clinical trials, ensuring adherence to ethical guidelines and regulatory standards.
- Collect and analyze data using advanced statistical techniques and software, and present research findings through comprehensive reports, scientific publications, and presentations.
- Collaborate closely with other veterinarians, researchers, and external partners to exchange knowledge, contribute to interdisciplinary projects, and foster innovation in veterinary medicine.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in zoology, veterinary medicine, and related fields, incorporating new findings into ongoing research projects.
- Participate in academic conferences, seminars, and workshops to present research findings and enhance professional development.
- Mentor and supervise junior researchers, providing guidance and support in their research activities.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- A minimum of a master's degree in Zoology, Veterinary Medicine, or a closely related field. A Ph.D. in Zoology is preferred.
- Proven experience as a Zoologist or in a similar research role, specifically in the field of veterinary medicine.
- In-depth knowledge of animal behavior, genetics, physiology, and ecology, with a focus on various animal species.
- Proficiency in designing and executing research methodologies, including field studies, laboratory experiments, and clinical trials.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to collect, analyze, and interpret complex data sets.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present research findings in a clear and concise manner.
- Proficiency in statistical analysis software and other relevant research tools.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a research team.
