Job Description: Retail Space Planner
Position Overview:
The Retail Space Planner is responsible for effectively planning and optimizing the layout and allocation of retail spaces within stores to maximize sales and customer experience. This role requires a strong analytical mindset, attention to detail, and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure efficient space utilization.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Develop and implement comprehensive space planning strategies to enhance overall retail store performance.
2. Analyze and evaluate data related to sales, customer traffic, and product performance to identify opportunities for space optimization.
3. Collaborate with merchandising, marketing, and store operations teams to understand business objectives and translate them into effective space plans.
4. Create detailed floor plans, fixture layouts, and planograms using computer-aided design (CAD) software and other planning tools.
5. Conduct regular store visits to assess and analyze space utilization, product placement, and overall store layout effectiveness.
6. Monitor industry trends and best practices in store design and visual merchandising to identify innovative space planning strategies.
7. Collaborate with store teams to ensure accurate execution of space plans, including maintaining proper inventory levels and product assortment.
8. Provide guidance and recommendations to store teams on visual merchandising techniques, product presentation, and display optimization.
9. Collaborate with vendors and external partners to source and select appropriate fixtures, fittings, and signage to enhance store layout and visual appeal.
10. Conduct ongoing analysis and measurement of space planning effectiveness, making data-driven recommendations for continuous improvement.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
1. Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Visual Merchandising, Retail Management, or a related field.
2. Proven experience in retail space planning, visual merchandising, or store planning.
3. Proficiency in computer-aided design (CAD) software and other space planning tools.
4. Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and make informed decisions.
5. Excellent attention to detail and a keen eye for aesthetics and visual appeal.
6. Ability to work collaboratively and effectively with cross-functional teams.
7. Strong project management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
