Job Summary:
The Biostatistician will play a crucial role in conducting statistical analysis and providing statistical expertise within the field of biostatistics. This role involves collaborating with researchers, scientists, and other stakeholders to design and analyze studies, interpret data, and support decision-making processes. The Biostatistician will contribute to the development and implementation of statistical methodologies and models to ensure accurate and reliable results in various research projects.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to design, plan, and implement statistical analysis plans for research studies, clinical trials, and observational studies.
2. Conduct thorough statistical analyses utilizing advanced statistical techniques and methodologies to evaluate and interpret data.
3. Develop and validate statistical models to identify trends, patterns, and relationships within complex datasets.
4. Provide statistical expertise and guidance to researchers, scientists, and stakeholders throughout the study lifecycle.
5. Prepare statistical reports, summaries, and visualizations to effectively communicate findings to non-statistical audiences.
6. Ensure compliance with regulatory guidelines and industry standards related to statistical analysis and reporting.
7. Contribute to the development and implementation of novel statistical methodologies and tools to enhance data analysis capabilities.
8. Collaborate with data management teams to ensure data integrity, quality control, and appropriate data cleaning processes.
9. Stay updated with the latest advancements in biostatistics and statistical methodologies to continuously enhance statistical practices and methodologies.
10. Participate in scientific discussions, conferences, and seminars to share knowledge and expertise within the field of biostatistics.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
1. Master's or Ph.D. degree in Biostatistics, Statistics, or a related field.
2. Proven experience in biostatistics or a similar role within the healthcare, pharmaceutical, or life sciences industry.
3. Strong knowledge of statistical concepts, methods, and software packages (e.g., SAS, R, STATA).
4. Proficiency in designing and executing statistical analysis plans for various study designs (e.g., clinical trials, observational studies, longitudinal studies).
5. Ability to apply advanced statistical techniques, including survival analysis, regression models, mixed-effects models, and Bayesian methods.
6. Solid understanding of statistical programming languages (e.g., SAS, R) and experience with data manipulation, cleaning, and analysis.
7. Excellent problem-solving and critical-thinking skills with a keen attention to detail.
8. Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively present complex statistical concepts to non-technical audiences.
9. Familiarity with regulatory guidelines (e.g., FDA, EMA) and industry standards for statistical analysis and reporting.
10. Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
