Job Summary:
The Data Quality Manager is responsible for ensuring the accuracy and integrity of all data within the library and information management systems. This position requires a meticulous and detail-oriented individual who possesses strong analytical skills and a deep understanding of data quality principles. The Data Quality Manager will work closely with various stakeholders to establish and enforce data quality standards, implement data cleansing and validation procedures, and monitor data quality metrics to identify and address any data inconsistencies or errors.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain data quality strategies, policies, and procedures in alignment with the organization's information management goals and best practices.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to establish data quality standards and guidelines, ensuring compliance throughout the data lifecycle.
- Design and implement data validation rules and procedures to assess the accuracy, completeness, and consistency of data.
- Conduct regular data quality audits and assessments to identify data issues, anomalies, and trends.
- Utilize data quality tools and technologies to monitor, analyze, and report on data quality metrics, such as completeness, accuracy, timeliness, and consistency.
- Investigate root causes of data quality issues and implement corrective actions to prevent future occurrences.
- Collaborate with IT teams to implement data cleansing and enrichment processes to improve data accuracy and integrity.
- Develop and deliver training programs to enhance data quality awareness and knowledge across the organization.
- Stay up to date with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices related to data quality management.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Library and Information Science, Information Management, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Proven experience working as a Data Quality Manager or in a similar data-centric role.
- In-depth knowledge of data quality principles, methodologies, and best practices.
- Strong understanding of data governance frameworks and information management standards.
- Proficient in using data quality tools and technologies, such as data profiling, data cleansing, and data validation tools.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities with a keen attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively collaborate with various stakeholders and convey complex data quality concepts.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, managing multiple priorities and meeting deadlines.
- Solid project management skills, with the ability to drive initiatives to completion within defined timelines.
- Strong knowledge of data privacy and security regulations would be an advantage.
