Job Summary:
The Metadata Analyst is responsible for managing and organizing metadata within the Library and Information Science department. 6. Support the integration and interoperability of metadata across various systems and platforms.
7. Apply metadata enrichment techniques to improve discoverability and accessibility of information resources.
8. Stay updated with emerging trends and technologies in metadata management and information organization.
9. Provide training and guidance to library staff on metadata standards, workflows, and best practices.

Required Skills and Qualifications:
1. Bachelor's degree in Library and Information Science or a related field.
2. Strong understanding of metadata standards and schemas such as Dublin Core, MODS, MARC, etc.
3. Proficiency in metadata management tools and systems.
4. Knowledge of information organization principles, including taxonomies, controlled vocabularies, and classification systems.
5. Familiarity with metadata enrichment techniques, such as authority control, cross-referencing, and linked data.
6. Experience in metadata analysis, quality control, and data governance.
7. Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in metadata creation and maintenance.
8. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to identify and resolve metadata-related issues.
9. Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, including librarians, information architects, and IT professionals.
10. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to convey complex metadata concepts to diverse stakeholders.
