Job Description: Podiatrist (Sports Medicine)
We are currently seeking a highly skilled and experienced Podiatrist to join our team in the Sports Medicine department. As a Podiatrist specializing in Sports Medicine, you will be responsible for providing comprehensive foot and ankle care to athletes and individuals participating in various sports activities. Your expertise in diagnosing, treating, and preventing foot and ankle injuries will be crucial in promoting optimal performance and facilitating efficient recovery.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct thorough assessments of foot and ankle conditions, injuries, and disorders in athletes and sports enthusiasts.
- Develop and implement personalized treatment plans, including orthotics, rehabilitation exercises, and therapeutic interventions, to facilitate recovery and prevent reoccurrence of injuries.
- Perform surgical procedures when necessary, such as foot and ankle reconstruction, ankle arthroscopy, and other podiatric surgical interventions.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, including sports trainers, physiotherapists, and orthopedic surgeons, to provide multi-disciplinary care for athletes.
- Educate athletes and sports teams on injury prevention techniques, proper footwear, and foot care practices to optimize performance and minimize the risk of foot and ankle injuries.
- Stay updated with the latest advancements in sports podiatry, research, and treatment techniques to ensure the highest quality of care.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- A Doctor of Podiatric Medicine (DPM) degree from an accredited institution.
- Valid license to practice as a Podiatrist in the relevant jurisdiction.
- Board certification in Podiatric Medicine and Surgery.
- Proven experience in diagnosing and treating foot and ankle injuries, particularly in athletes.
- Extensive knowledge of sports-related foot and ankle conditions, biomechanics, and treatment modalities.
- Proficient in conducting comprehensive foot and ankle assessments, including diagnostic imaging interpretation.
- Ability to develop and implement personalized treatment plans, incorporating both conservative and surgical interventions.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with athletes, sports teams, and healthcare professionals.
- Strong commitment to patient care, injury prevention, and evidence-based practice.
