Job Summary:
The Health Promotion Specialist is responsible for planning, implementing, and evaluating health promotion programs and initiatives to improve the overall health and well-being of individuals, communities, and populations. They collaborate with various stakeholders to develop strategies and interventions that address public health concerns and promote positive behavior change.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Develop and implement evidence-based health promotion programs and initiatives.
2. Conduct assessments and analyze data to identify health needs and priorities within the target population.
3. Collaborate with internal and external partners to design, deliver, and evaluate health promotion activities and campaigns.
4. Provide guidance and support to community organizations, schools, and healthcare providers to promote health education and preventive measures.
5. Create and deliver educational materials, presentations, and workshops on various health topics.
6. Develop and maintain partnerships with community leaders, organizations, and key stakeholders to enhance program effectiveness and sustainability.
7. Stay updated on current research, policies, and trends related to public health and health promotion.
8. Monitor and evaluate program outcomes and make recommendations for continuous improvement.
9. Prepare reports, presentations, and grant proposals to secure funding for health promotion initiatives.
10. Collaborate with other departments and agencies to coordinate resources, share best practices, and address health disparities.
Qualifications and Skills:
1. Bachelor's degree in Public Health, Health Promotion, Health Education, or a related field. Master's degree preferred.
2. Minimum of 3 years of experience in planning, implementing, and evaluating health promotion programs.
3. In-depth knowledge of public health principles, theories, and practices.
4. Strong understanding of health behavior change theories and evidence-based interventions.
5. Proficient in conducting needs assessments, data analysis, and program evaluation.
6. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to present complex information to diverse audiences.
7. Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain effective partnerships and collaborations.
8. Strong organizational and project management skills with the ability to prioritize and meet deadlines.
9. Proficient in using computer software and technology for data analysis, report writing, and presentations.
10. Ability to work independently as well as part of a multidisciplinary team.
