Job Description: Lineworker
Position Summary:
The Lineworker is responsible for performing electrical construction, maintenance, and repair tasks on overhead and underground power distribution systems. This role requires expertise in working with high-voltage electrical equipment, poles, and lines. The Lineworker is expected to adhere to safety guidelines, work efficiently, and demonstrate exceptional electrical skills to ensure the uninterrupted flow of electricity to customers.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Install, repair, and maintain electrical distribution systems, including overhead and underground lines, poles, transformers, and related equipment.
2. Conduct routine inspections to identify and address potential electrical hazards and system failures.
3. Perform line clearance activities, such as trimming trees and removing branches to prevent interference with electrical systems.
4. Respond promptly to service interruptions, outages, and emergencies, ensuring timely restoration of power supply.
5. Collaborate with team members to plan and execute electrical projects, adhering to specifications and safety standards.
6. Operate and maintain a variety of specialized tools and equipment, such as bucket trucks, digger derricks, and cable fault locating devices.
7. Troubleshoot and diagnose electrical faults, using appropriate testing equipment, in order to ensure accurate repair and restoration.
8. Follow established procedures for grounding and de-energizing electrical systems to ensure safe working conditions.
9. Install and maintain street lighting systems in accordance with local regulations and customer requirements.
10. Complete and maintain accurate records of work performed, materials used, and equipment serviced.
Qualifications:
1. High school diploma or equivalent.
2. Valid and active electrical license/certification.
3. Minimum of [X] years of experience working as a Lineworker or in a similar role.
4. Thorough knowledge of electrical distribution systems, including overhead and underground power lines, transformers, and related equipment.
5. Proficiency in troubleshooting and diagnosing electrical faults using appropriate tools and equipment.

7. Strong physical stamina and ability to work at heights, in various weather conditions, and during emergencies.
8. Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to make sound decisions under pressure.
9. Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, to interact with team members, customers, and stakeholders.
10. Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
