Job Summary:
The Control Systems Technician is responsible for assisting in the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of control systems used in electrical work. This role requires a strong understanding of various control systems, including but not limited to programmable logic controllers (PLCs), distributed control systems (DCS), human-machine interfaces (HMIs), and associated instrumentation. The Control Systems Technician will work closely with the Control Systems Supervisor and other team members to ensure the efficient and reliable operation of control systems.
Responsibilities:
- Assist in the installation, commissioning, and maintenance of control systems for electrical work projects.
- Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair control system malfunctions to minimize downtime and ensure optimal performance.
- Conduct regular inspections and preventive maintenance on control systems and associated equipment.
- Collaborate with the Control Systems Supervisor and other team members to develop and implement control system modifications and enhancements to improve system performance.
- Maintain accurate documentation of control system configurations, modifications, and repairs.
- Collaborate with other departments or external vendors as needed to resolve control system issues.
- Stay updated with industry trends and advancements in control systems technology.
- Adhere to all safety regulations and protocols while working with control systems.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
Skills and Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Technical degree or certification in electrical or control systems engineering is preferred.
- Minimum of [X] years of experience working with control systems, preferably in an electrical work environment.
- Strong understanding of programmable logic controllers (PLCs), distributed control systems (DCS), human-machine interfaces (HMIs), and associated instrumentation.
