Job Description: Agriculture and Environmental Science - Forestry - Forest Outreach Coordinator
Position Summary:
The Forest Outreach Coordinator is responsible for coordinating and implementing outreach programs related to forestry and environmental sciences. This role entails developing and maintaining relationships with various stakeholders, promoting forest conservation and sustainable practices, and organizing educational activities to enhance public awareness and engagement. The Forest Outreach Coordinator will work closely with team members to achieve program objectives and contribute to the overall success of the organization.
Responsibilities:
1. Develop and implement outreach programs to promote forest conservation and sustainable practices.
2. Collaborate with stakeholders, including government agencies, educational institutions, community organizations, and industry professionals, to identify outreach opportunities.
3. Organize and lead educational workshops, seminars, and events for diverse audiences, including students, professionals, and the general public.
4. Coordinate and deliver presentations on forestry-related topics to raise awareness and encourage participation in conservation efforts.
5. Create engaging educational materials, such as brochures, pamphlets, and multimedia content, to support outreach activities.
6. Maintain an up-to-date knowledge of forestry practices, environmental regulations, and emerging trends in the field.
7. Assist in the development and implementation of forest management plans, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and guidelines.
8. Collaborate with internal teams to identify funding opportunities and assist in grant writing and reporting activities.
9. Conduct regular site visits to assess forest health, identify potential risks, and recommend appropriate mitigation measures.
10. Maintain accurate records and prepare reports on outreach activities, program outcomes, and participant feedback.
Qualifications:
1. Bachelor's degree in Forestry, Environmental Science, or a related field. Master's degree preferred.
2. Proven experience in coordinating and implementing outreach programs in the forestry or environmental sector.
3. Proficient knowledge of forestry principles, forest management techniques, and conservation practices.
4. Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to effectively engage diverse audiences.
5. Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
6. Demonstrated ability to build and maintain relationships with stakeholders, including government agencies, community organizations, and industry professionals.
7. Proficiency in developing educational materials and delivering presentations to various audiences.
8. Knowledge of grant writing and reporting processes is desirable.
