Job Description: Arborist
Position Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled and knowledgeable Arborist to join our team. As an Arborist, you will be responsible for the care and maintenance of trees within our agricultural and environmental science organization. You will assess tree health, provide expert advice on tree management practices, and implement appropriate strategies to ensure the optimal growth and preservation of trees within our forestry operations.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Inspect trees for signs of disease, pests, or structural issues, and determine appropriate treatment or maintenance procedures.
2. Perform tree pruning, trimming, and removal activities according to industry standards, ensuring the safety of personnel and property.
3. Conduct tree risk assessments to identify potential hazards and develop preventive measures.
4. Collaborate with other team members to develop tree care plans and implement scheduled maintenance activities.
5. Operate and maintain various equipment and tools required for tree care tasks, ensuring they are in proper working condition.
6. Apply fertilizers, pesticides, and other necessary treatments to enhance tree health and mitigate potential risks.
7. Provide consultation and advice to internal stakeholders regarding tree selection, planting, and ongoing care.
8. Monitor and document tree health, growth patterns, and treatments performed, maintaining accurate records for future reference.
9. Stay updated on industry trends, best practices, and regulations related to arboriculture and tree care.
10. Ensure compliance with all safety protocols and regulations during tree care operations.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
1. Bachelor's degree in Arboriculture, Forestry, Horticulture, or a related field.
2. Proven experience as an Arborist, demonstrating a comprehensive understanding of tree care techniques and practices.
3. Excellent knowledge of tree species, growth patterns, diseases, and pests.
4. Proficiency in operating and maintaining tree care equipment, including chainsaws, pruning tools, and climbing gear.
5. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to assess tree health and determine appropriate treatment plans.
6. Ability to work independently and as part of a team, collaborating effectively with internal stakeholders.
7. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to provide guidance and advice to team members and clients.
8. Physical fitness and stamina to perform physically demanding tasks, including climbing, lifting heavy objects, and working at heights.
9. Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
10. Knowledge of safety regulations and practices related to tree care operations.
