Position Overview:
We are seeking a highly qualified and experienced Criminal Justice Instructor to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for planning, organizing, and delivering high-quality instruction in law enforcement and criminal justice courses. The Criminal Justice Instructor will play a crucial role in preparing students for careers in law enforcement and related fields, ensuring they possess the necessary knowledge and skills to succeed in this profession.
Responsibilities:
1. Develop and deliver engaging and comprehensive instructional materials for law enforcement and criminal justice courses.
2. Create and implement lesson plans, ensuring alignment with curriculum goals and objectives.
3. Conduct classroom and lab activities to facilitate student learning, skill development, and critical thinking.
4. Utilize a variety of teaching methods, such as lectures, group discussions, demonstrations, and practical exercises, to enhance student understanding and engagement.

6. Maintain accurate records of student attendance, grades, and academic progress.
7. Stay informed about current trends, practices, and developments in law enforcement and criminal justice to enhance instructional effectiveness.
8. Provide academic and career guidance to students, assisting them in setting and achieving their educational and professional goals.
9. Collaborate with colleagues and administrators to develop and revise curriculum content, ensuring it remains current and relevant.
10. Participate in faculty meetings, professional development activities, and other departmental initiatives as required.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
1. Bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice, Law Enforcement, or a related field. Master's degree preferred.
2. A minimum of 5 years of experience in law enforcement or criminal justice, with expertise in areas such as criminal law, policing, corrections, or criminology.
3. Proven teaching experience in a post-secondary institution or training setting.
4. Excellent oral and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively convey complex concepts to a diverse student population.
5. Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
6. Proficiency in instructional technology, including learning management systems and multimedia tools.
7. Demonstrated commitment to fostering an inclusive and respectful learning environment.
8. Knowledge of industry standards and best practices in law enforcement and criminal justice.
9. Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues, students, and stakeholders to achieve departmental goals.
