Job Summary:
The Radio Production Assistant will provide essential support to the radio production team by assisting with various tasks related to radio program creation, editing, and production. Responsibilities:
1. Assist in the production of radio programs, including gathering and organizing audio content, editing recorded interviews, and ensuring high-quality sound production.
2. Coordinate with reporters, anchors, and producers to schedule interviews and recordings, ensuring timely delivery of required audio elements.
3. Conduct research and gather background information on topics for radio programs, ensuring accurate and up-to-date information is used for content creation.
4. Operate audio recording and editing equipment, such as digital audio workstations (DAWs) and audio mixing consoles, to produce high-quality radio content.
5. Collaborate with the production team to brainstorm and develop innovative program ideas, ensuring engaging and audience-driven content.
6. Assist in the creation of scripts and cue sheets for radio programs, ensuring adherence to station guidelines and objectives.
7. Coordinate with external partners, including guests, experts, and contributors, to schedule their participation in radio programs and ensure smooth execution.
8. Monitor and maintain audio archives, ensuring easy accessibility of previous radio programs and associated content.
9. Stay updated with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in radio production, and provide recommendations for process improvements and equipment upgrades.
10. Adhere to legal and ethical guidelines related to broadcasting, copyright, and music licensing during radio program production.
Qualifications:
1. Bachelor's degree in Communication, Media Studies, Broadcasting, or a related field.
2. Proven experience (internship, volunteer, or professional) in radio production or a similar role.
3. Knowledge of audio recording and editing software, such as Pro Tools, Adobe Audition, or similar platforms.
4. Familiarity with audio mixing consoles and other audio production equipment.
5. Strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
6. Attention to detail and a keen ear for sound quality, ensuring the delivery of high-quality radio programs.
7. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively within a team.
