Job Description: Space Planner, Interior Design
Position Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Space Planner to join our dynamic team of interior design professionals. As a Space Planner, you will play a crucial role in analyzing and optimizing the utilization of space within various architectural environments. Responsibilities:
1. Conduct thorough assessments of clients' needs and objectives to determine functional space requirements.
2. Collaborate with clients, architects, and interior designers to develop innovative space plans that meet project objectives.
3. Utilize AutoCAD and other design software to create accurate and detailed 2D and 3D space plans, including furniture layout, lighting, and spatial configurations.
4. Conduct site visits to gather information on existing spaces and take accurate measurements.
5. Analyze existing space plans and propose optimized layouts, considering traffic flow, accessibility, and ergonomics.
6. Develop comprehensive documentation, including detailed drawings, specifications, and material selections to communicate design intent.
7. Stay updated with industry trends, regulations, and best practices related to space planning and interior design.
8. Collaborate with project teams to ensure seamless coordination and integration of space planning with other design elements.
9. Provide guidance and support to junior team members, sharing knowledge and best practices.
10. Maintain accurate project records, including documentation of client meetings, design changes, and approvals.
Qualifications:
1. Bachelor's degree in Interior Design, Architecture, or related field.
2. Minimum of 5 years of experience working as a Space Planner or in a similar role within the interior design industry.
3. Proficiency in AutoCAD and other design software, with a strong aptitude for creating accurate and detailed drawings.
4. Solid understanding of architectural and interior design principles, including spatial planning, furniture layout, and materials.
5. Strong analytical skills, with the ability to assess and optimize space utilization.
6. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with clients, colleagues, and stakeholders.
7. Detail-oriented mindset with a strong commitment to delivering high-quality work within specified deadlines.
