Position: Educational Consultant

Job Summary:
The Educational Consultant is responsible for providing expert guidance and support to students, parents, and educational staff within the school system. This role focuses on assisting students in making informed decisions regarding their academic and career pathways, as well as providing comprehensive counseling services to address their social and emotional needs. The Educational Consultant collaborates with school leadership and academic faculty to develop and implement effective educational programs and resources.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Conduct individual and group counseling sessions to address students' academic, career, and personal/social development.
2. Assist students in assessing their interests, skills, and aspirations to develop educational/career plans.
3. Provide guidance and support in course selection, college admissions, scholarships, and other post-secondary opportunities.
4. Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other stakeholders to identify and address students' academic and behavioral challenges.
5. Develop and implement strategies to enhance students' study skills, time management, and organizational abilities.
6. Coordinate and facilitate workshops, seminars, and informational sessions for students, parents, and staff on various educational topics.
7. Stay abreast of current educational trends, college entrance requirements, and scholarship opportunities to provide up-to-date information to students and parents.
8. Collaborate with school administration to develop and evaluate comprehensive counseling programs aligned with state and national standards.
9. Maintain accurate and confidential student records, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and policies.
10. Participate actively in professional development activities to enhance counseling skills and stay informed about best practices.
Skills and Qualifications:
1. Bachelor's or Master's degree in Counseling, Education, or a related field.
2. Valid state certification/license in School Counseling.
3. Proven experience in providing counseling services to students in an educational setting.
4. Strong knowledge of academic and career counseling principles and techniques.
5. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to establish rapport with students, parents, and staff.
6. Well-developed organizational and time management abilities.
7. Familiarity with assessing student needs and developing appropriate intervention strategies.
8. Proficient in using counseling software and other educational resources.
9. Knowledge of state and national educational standards, college admissions processes, and scholarship opportunities.
10. Ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to ethical guidelines.
11. Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
12. Flexibility and adaptability to work effectively in a fast-paced educational environment.
