Job Summary:
The Food Process Engineer will be responsible for developing, implementing, and improving food processing systems and techniques to optimize production efficiency, quality, and safety. This role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams to design, test, and troubleshoot food processing equipment, ensuring compliance with industry regulations and standards. The Food Process Engineer will also play a key role in identifying and implementing process improvements to enhance manufacturing effectiveness.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Design and develop food processing systems, including equipment selection, layout, and configuration, to meet production requirements.
2. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to create and implement innovative food processing technologies and techniques.
3. Conduct tests and experiments to evaluate and optimize food processing parameters, ensuring product quality and consistency.
4. Analyze and interpret data obtained from testing, identifying opportunities for process improvements and cost reductions.
5. Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to food processing equipment, ensuring minimal downtime and production interruptions.
6. Maintain an up-to-date understanding of industry regulations, standards, and best practices related to food safety and manufacturing processes.
7. Collaborate with quality assurance teams to develop and implement effective quality control measures for food processing operations.
8. Provide technical support and guidance to production teams, ensuring compliance with established procedures and protocols.
9. Develop and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs) and process documentation for food processing operations.
10. Drive continuous improvement initiatives, recommending and implementing process modifications to enhance productivity and efficiency.
Qualifications and Skills:
1. Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering or a related field.
2. Proven experience (X years) working as a Food Process Engineer or in a similar role within the food manufacturing industry.
3. In-depth knowledge of food processing equipment, technologies, and manufacturing processes.
4. Strong understanding of food safety regulations and industry standards.
5. Proficient in data analysis and interpretation, using statistical tools and software.
6. Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills, with the ability to identify and resolve complex technical issues.
7. Demonstrated ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams, collaborating with colleagues from various departments.
8. Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in designing and implementing food processing systems.
9. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively convey technical information to non-technical stakeholders.
10. Proactive approach to identifying process improvement opportunities and implementing innovative solutions.
