Summary:
The Aerodynamics Engineer will play a key role in the design, development, and testing of aerospace products, focusing on the aerodynamic performance of aircraft, missiles, or spacecraft. The successful candidate will utilize their expertise in aerodynamics to analyze, model, and optimize various aspects of flight performance, ensuring the efficient and safe operation of aerospace systems.
Responsibilities:
1. Conduct aerodynamic analysis and simulations using advanced computational tools to assess and optimize the performance of aerospace systems.
2. Develop and refine numerical models to accurately predict aerodynamic behavior, including airflow patterns, lift, drag, stability, and control.
3. Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to provide aerodynamic input during the design, development, and testing phases of aerospace projects.
4. Evaluate and recommend modifications to existing designs to improve overall aerodynamic efficiency and performance.
5. Conduct wind tunnel testing and flight testing to validate and verify aerodynamic models and simulations.
6. Analyze and interpret test data, identifying areas for improvement and providing recommendations for design refinements.
7. Perform detailed technical reviews and provide guidance on aerodynamic aspects of engineering projects.
8. Stay abreast of emerging technologies, industry trends, and best practices in aerospace aerodynamics to enhance knowledge and contribute to continuous improvement efforts.
9. Document and present findings, reports, and technical documentation with clarity and accuracy to stakeholders, including management, clients, and regulatory authorities.
10. Adhere to all quality, safety, and regulatory standards in line with company policies and industry regulations.
Qualifications:
1. Bachelor's degree or higher in Aerospace Engineering or a related field.
2. Proven experience as an Aerodynamics Engineer within the aerospace industry, with a focus on aircraft, missiles, or spacecraft.
3. In-depth knowledge of aerodynamics principles, computational fluid dynamics (CFD), and wind tunnel testing.
4. Proficiency in using industry-standard aerodynamic analysis software, such as ANSYS, FLUENT, or similar tools.
5. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex data and provide innovative solutions.
6. Excellent mathematical skills and proficiency in using relevant mathematical modeling techniques.
7. Familiarity with relevant aerospace design standards, regulations, and certification processes.
8. Effective communication skills, with the ability to convey technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
9. Strong attention to detail and precision, combined with the ability to work efficiently under tight deadlines.
10. Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within cross-functional teams.
