Job Summary:
The Avionics Engineer is responsible for designing, developing, testing, and maintaining avionics systems and components for aerospace applications. This role involves working closely with cross-functional teams to ensure the integration of avionics systems into aircraft, adhering to industry standards and regulations. The Avionics Engineer must possess strong problem-solving skills, technical expertise, and a comprehensive understanding of avionics engineering principles.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Design and develop avionics systems, subsystems, and components for aerospace applications, ensuring compliance with project requirements and industry standards.
2. Conduct system-level integration, verification, and validation activities for avionics systems to ensure functional performance, reliability, and safety.
3. Collaborate with other engineering teams (electronics, software, mechanical) to ensure seamless integration of avionics systems into the overall aircraft design.
4. Perform detailed analysis and troubleshooting of avionics systems and components to identify and resolve any technical issues or failures.
5. Create and maintain technical documentation, including system specifications, design documents, test plans, and reports.
6. Collaborate with suppliers and contractors to source avionics components and equipment, ensuring compliance with quality standards and project specifications.
7. Stay updated with the latest advancements in avionics engineering and industry trends to drive innovation and continuous improvement.
8. Support the certification process of avionics systems by providing technical documentation and participating in compliance reviews.
9. Participate in design reviews and contribute to the development of avionics system architectures, ensuring adherence to safety and performance requirements.
10. Adhere to established engineering processes, standards, and best practices to ensure high-quality avionics designs and implementations.
Skills and Qualifications:
1. Bachelor's degree in Aerospace Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field. Master's degree preferred.
2. Proven experience in avionics engineering, preferably in the aerospace industry.
3. In-depth understanding of avionics system design, integration, and verification processes.
4. Proficient in using industry-standard tools and software for avionics design and analysis.
5. Strong knowledge of avionics hardware, including sensors, communication systems, control systems, and data acquisition systems.
6. Familiarity with relevant industry standards and regulations, such as DO-178C, DO-254, and ARP4754.
7. Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues.
8. Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams.
9. Detail-oriented and organized, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.
10. Up-to-date knowledge of emerging technologies and trends in avionics engineering.
