Job Summary:
The Aircraft Design Engineer is responsible for designing, developing, and testing aircraft structures and systems. This role requires a high level of technical expertise in aerospace engineering, with a focus on aircraft design principles and regulations. The Aircraft Design Engineer collaborates with cross-functional teams to ensure that design concepts adhere to safety standards, meet customer requirements, and are optimized for performance.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Conduct in-depth research and analysis to develop innovative aircraft design concepts.
2. Create detailed technical drawings, 3D models, and specifications using computer-aided design (CAD) software.
3. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to define and evaluate design requirements, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.
4. Perform structural analysis, stress testing, and aerodynamic simulations to assess the feasibility and performance of design concepts.
5. Identify potential design risks and propose effective mitigation strategies.
6. Participate in design reviews and provide technical guidance to improve design efficiency and manufacturability.
7. Support the integration of aircraft systems, ensuring seamless interaction between various components.
8. Collaborate with suppliers and manufacturing teams to ensure successful production and assembly of aircraft.
9. Stay updated with industry trends, emerging technologies, and regulatory changes related to aircraft design.
10. Support the certification process by preparing and reviewing technical documentation.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
1. Bachelor's degree in Aerospace Engineering or a related field. Master's degree preferred.
2. Proven experience in aircraft design engineering, including conceptual design and detailed design phases.
3. In-depth knowledge of aerospace engineering principles, including aerodynamics, structures, and systems integration.
4. Proficiency in computer-aided design (CAD) software, such as CATIA, SolidWorks, or AutoCAD.
5. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to conduct complex engineering calculations.
6. Familiarity with industry standards and regulations, such as FAA, EASA, or equivalent.
7. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively within cross-functional teams.
