Job Description: Structural Engineer (Mechanical)
Position Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Structural Engineer (Mechanical) to join our dynamic engineering team. As a Structural Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, analyzing, and inspecting mechanical structures and systems. Your expertise will contribute to the successful completion of various projects while ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Design and analyze mechanical structures and systems, including but not limited to, buildings, bridges, machinery, and industrial equipment.
2. Develop detailed engineering plans, specifications, and calculations using industry-standard software and tools.
3. Conduct thorough inspections and assessments of existing structures to identify potential issues and recommend necessary repairs or improvements.
4. Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to integrate mechanical systems into overall project designs.
5. Review project proposals, contracts, and specifications to ensure compliance with client requirements and applicable codes and standards.
6. Perform feasibility studies and cost analysis for proposed structural engineering projects.
7. Conduct comprehensive risk assessments and implement mitigation strategies to ensure the safety and integrity of mechanical structures.
8. Provide technical guidance and support to junior engineers and drafters.
9. Coordinate with external stakeholders, such as contractors, architects, and regulatory authorities, to facilitate smooth project execution.
10. Stay updated with advancements in structural engineering technologies, codes, and regulations to enhance professional knowledge and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
1. Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
2. Proven experience as a Structural Engineer or similar role, preferably in the mechanical engineering domain.
3. In-depth knowledge of mechanical engineering principles, theories, and practices.
4. Proficiency in utilizing engineering software and tools, such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, ANSYS, and MATLAB.
5. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to assess complex structural issues and propose effective solutions.
6. Excellent understanding of relevant building codes and industry standards, including ASME, ASTM, and ACI.
7. Ability to interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications accurately.
8. Outstanding verbal and written communication skills to effectively collaborate with team members and stakeholders.
9. Strong project management abilities, including the capacity to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
