Job Summary:
The HVAC Engineer is responsible for designing, developing, and implementing heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) systems for various projects. The individual in this role will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure the successful execution of HVAC projects, while adhering to industry standards and regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Design and develop HVAC systems, including equipment selection, load calculations, system sizing, and layout.
2. Prepare technical specifications, drawings, and documents for HVAC systems, ensuring accuracy and compliance with project requirements.
3. Conduct site visits and assessments to gather relevant data for HVAC system design and troubleshooting purposes.
4. Collaborate with architects, engineers, and other stakeholders to integrate HVAC systems into building designs effectively.
5. Evaluate and select HVAC equipment, components, and materials based on project requirements, performance, and energy efficiency.
6. Perform calculations and simulations to analyze HVAC system performance, energy consumption, and thermal comfort.
7. Develop and review HVAC system control strategies, sequences of operation, and optimization techniques.
8. Coordinate with contractors and suppliers to ensure timely procurement, delivery, and installation of HVAC equipment and systems.
9. Conduct tests, inspections, and commissioning activities to verify the proper functioning of HVAC systems and compliance with design specifications.
10. Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to HVAC systems during project implementation and post-installation phases.
11. Stay updated with industry advancements, codes, standards, and regulations pertaining to HVAC systems.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
1. Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
2. Minimum of 5 years of experience in HVAC system design, development, and implementation.
3. In-depth knowledge of HVAC engineering principles, practices, and technologies.
4. Proficient in using HVAC design software, such as AutoCAD, Revit, or similar tools.
5. Solid understanding of building codes, regulations, and industry standards related to HVAC systems.
6. Strong analytical skills to assess HVAC system performance and energy consumption.
7. Excellent problem-solving abilities to identify and resolve technical issues.
8. Effective communication skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
9. Detail-oriented and able to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
10. Familiarity with energy-efficient HVAC technologies and sustainable design principles.
11. Professional Engineer (PE) license or relevant certifications are preferred, but not mandatory.
