Job Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Biomechanical Engineer to join our dynamic engineering team. As a Biomechanical Engineer, you will be responsible for applying engineering principles and advanced biological knowledge to analyze and solve complex problems related to human and animal motion and mechanics. You will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to develop innovative solutions that enhance human performance, prevent injuries, and improve the design of medical devices and assistive technologies.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Conduct comprehensive biomechanical research and analysis to understand the mechanical behavior of human and animal systems.
2. Design and execute experiments to collect biomechanical data, using state-of-the-art equipment and techniques.
3. Develop computer simulations and mathematical models to predict and analyze the performance of biological systems and evaluate potential interventions.
4. Perform statistical analysis of experimental data to draw meaningful conclusions and make evidence-based recommendations.
5. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to provide technical expertise on biomechanics in the development of medical devices, implants, orthotics, and prosthetics.
6. Participate in the design and testing of innovative products, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.
7. Provide technical support to interdisciplinary teams, including physicians, surgeons, and product designers.
8. Stay updated with emerging technologies, industry trends, and scientific literature related to biomechanics.
9. Prepare and present research findings, technical reports, and presentations to internal and external stakeholders.
10. Contribute to the publication of research papers and patents to advance the field of biomechanics.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
1. Bachelor's, Master's, or Ph.D. degree in Mechanical Engineering or Biomedical Engineering with a focus on biomechanics.
2. Strong understanding of engineering principles, mechanics, and biological systems.
3. Proficiency in biomechanical data collection techniques, such as motion capture, force plate measurements, and electromyography (EMG).
4. Experience with computer-aided design (CAD) software for creating 3D models and engineering drawings.
5. Proficiency in biomechanical analysis software (e.g., MATLAB, LabVIEW, OpenSim) for data processing, simulation, and modeling.
6. Knowledge of statistical analysis methods and tools.
7. Ability to design and conduct experiments, including research protocols, subject recruitment, and data management.
8. Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to apply engineering principles to complex biological systems.
9. Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present technical information effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences.
10. Ability to work collaboratively in cross-functional teams and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
11. Attention to detail and commitment to accuracy in data collection, analysis, and reporting.
