Position: Composite Materials Engineer
Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Composite Materials Engineer to join our engineering team. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and testing composite materials used in various mechanical engineering applications. The role requires expertise in composite material properties, manufacturing processes, and the ability to apply sound engineering principles to optimize performance and durability.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and optimize composite material formulations based on project requirements and specifications.
- Conduct material characterization tests to evaluate mechanical properties, such as strength, stiffness, fatigue, and thermal behavior.
- Design and analyze composite structures and components using advanced engineering software and tools.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to provide technical expertise and support on composite material selection, manufacturing processes, and design optimization.
- Conduct feasibility studies and cost analysis for composite material applications.
- Create and maintain comprehensive documentation, including material specifications, test reports, and design guidelines.
- Stay updated on industry trends, advancements, and emerging technologies related to composite materials.
- Ensure compliance with relevant industry standards and regulations.
Required Skills:
- Strong knowledge of composite material science, including composite material properties, manufacturing techniques, and characterization methods.
- Proficient in using engineering software and tools for designing and analyzing composite structures, such as Finite Element Analysis (FEA) software.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to apply engineering principles to optimize composite material performance.
- Proficient in conducting material testing and interpretation of test results.
- Solid understanding of mechanical engineering principles and their application to composite material design.
- Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and present technical information.
- Detail-oriented with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet project deadlines.
- Familiarity with industry standards and regulations related to composite materials.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field. Master's degree preferred.
