Job Summary:
The Drainage Engineer will be responsible for designing, developing, and managing drainage systems for various civil engineering projects. This role requires a strong understanding of hydraulic and hydrological principles, as well as proficiency in drainage design software. The Drainage Engineer will collaborate with project teams to ensure compliance with regulatory standards and contribute to the successful completion of projects.
Responsibilities:
1. Conduct detailed analysis and design of drainage systems for civil engineering projects, ensuring efficient stormwater management.
2. Develop drainage plans, profiles, and calculations using industry-standard design software.
3. Collaborate with project managers and engineers to integrate drainage design with overall project requirements.
4. Evaluate and recommend appropriate drainage systems, materials, and technologies based on project specifications and site conditions.
5. Conduct site visits to assess existing drainage infrastructure, identify potential issues, and propose solutions.
6. Prepare comprehensive drainage reports, including detailed analysis, design summaries, and cost estimates.
7. Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations regarding stormwater management and drainage design.
8. Review and provide feedback on drainage-related documents, reports, and drawings prepared by other team members.
9. Stay updated with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices related to drainage engineering.
10. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to provide technical expertise and guidance on drainage-related matters.
Qualifications:
1. Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field. Master's degree preferred.
2. Professional Engineer (PE) license in Civil Engineering is required.
3. Proven experience (X years) in drainage engineering, including design, analysis, and management of drainage systems.
4. Proficiency in drainage design software, such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D, HEC-RAS, SWMM, or similar tools.
5. Strong knowledge of hydraulic and hydrological principles, with the ability to apply them in drainage system design.
6. Familiarity with local, state, and federal regulations related to stormwater management and drainage design.
7. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills to evaluate complex drainage issues and propose effective solutions.
8. Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and effectively communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
9. Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
10. Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to prepare comprehensive reports and technical documentation.
