Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Women's Health Physical Therapist to join our team. As a Women's Health Physical Therapist, you will provide specialized and evidence-based physical therapy services to women of all ages, addressing a range of conditions related to women's health and pelvic floor dysfunction. Your primary goal will be to improve the overall quality of life for women by providing comprehensive and individualized treatment plans.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct thorough initial evaluations and assessments of women presenting with various conditions related to women's health, including pelvic pain, prenatal and postpartum musculoskeletal issues, urinary and fecal incontinence, pelvic organ prolapse, and post-surgical rehabilitation.
- Develop and implement personalized treatment plans, focusing on manual therapy techniques, therapeutic exercise, patient education, and functional training to improve mobility, strength, and overall function.
- Utilize specialized modalities and equipment to address women's unique needs, such as biofeedback, electrical stimulation, and vaginal weights.
- Monitor and document patient progress, including functional outcomes and treatment effectiveness, to evaluate the efficacy of the treatment plan and make necessary adjustments.
- Educate patients on self-management techniques, including home exercise programs, posture correction, and lifestyle modifications, empowering them to actively participate in their own recovery.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, including physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals, to provide comprehensive care and ensure continuity of treatment.
- Stay updated with the latest research, evidence-based practice guidelines, and advancements in the field of women's health physical therapy, incorporating new techniques and approaches into clinical practice.
- Adhere to legal and ethical standards, maintaining patient confidentiality and ensuring a safe and supportive environment.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Physical Therapy (Master's or Doctorate preferred).
- Valid and unrestricted state licensure as a Physical Therapist.
- Certification or specialization in Women's Health Physical Therapy highly preferred.
- Proven experience in women's health physical therapy, with expertise in assessing and treating women with pelvic floor dysfunction and related conditions.
- In-depth knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and biomechanics related to women's health.
- Proficient in conducting comprehensive evaluations and utilizing assessment tools specific to women's health physical therapy.
- Strong understanding of evidence-based practice and ability to integrate new research findings into clinical practice.
