Position: Veterinary Technologist

Overview:
The Veterinary Technologist plays a vital role in providing high-quality medical care to animals within the veterinary hospital or clinic setting. This position requires a strong foundation in veterinary medicine and exceptional technical skills to assist veterinarians in diagnosing and treating animal patients.

Responsibilities:
1. Assist veterinarians in performing medical procedures on animals, including but not limited to:
- Administering medications and vaccines
- Conducting physical examinations
- Collecting and analyzing laboratory samples
- Performing diagnostic imaging (radiography, ultrasound, etc.)
- Assisting in surgical procedures
- Monitoring anesthesia during surgeries
- Providing post-operative care and monitoring
- Assisting with euthanasia procedures

2. Handle and restrain animals during examinations and procedures, ensuring their comfort and safety.

3. Maintain accurate medical records for all patients, including documenting medical histories, treatments, and test results.

4. Prepare and sterilize surgical instruments, equipment, and examination areas to maintain a clean and safe environment.

5. Administer treatments and medications as prescribed by veterinarians, adhering to strict dosage and administration guidelines.

6. Perform laboratory tests and analyses, such as blood work, urinalysis, and microscopic examinations, ensuring accurate and timely results.

7. Educate pet owners on proper animal care, medication administration, and post-treatment instructions.

8. Monitor and record vital signs, such as heart rate, respiration, and temperature, during examinations and procedures.
