Job Title: Air Cargo Manager
Job Description:
The Air Cargo Manager will be responsible for overseeing and managing all aspects of air cargo operations within the transportation and logistics industry. This role requires strong leadership skills and a deep understanding of aviation management, logistics, and cargo operations. The Air Cargo Manager will work closely with various stakeholders to ensure efficient and timely transportation of goods via air.
Responsibilities:
1. Develop and implement strategic plans to optimize air cargo operations, ensuring adherence to industry regulations and company policies.
2. Plan, organize, and coordinate the movement of cargo via air, including scheduling, routing, and tracking shipments to ensure on-time delivery.
3. Collaborate with internal teams, such as procurement, warehousing, and customer service, to streamline processes and maximize operational efficiency.
4. Manage and negotiate contracts with airlines, cargo handling agents, and other service providers to ensure cost-effective operations.
5. Oversee the handling and documentation of cargo, ensuring compliance with international trade and safety regulations.
6. Monitor and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective measures as necessary.
7. Provide leadership and guidance to a team of air cargo specialists, ensuring proper training, development, and performance management.
8. Foster strong relationships with clients, suppliers, and partners to maintain high levels of customer satisfaction and drive business growth.
9. Stay updated on industry trends, technological advancements, and regulatory changes related to air cargo management to ensure compliance and drive innovation.
10. Conduct regular audits and quality checks to ensure adherence to standard operating procedures and maintain high levels of service quality.
Skills and Qualifications:
1. Bachelor's degree in Aviation Management, Logistics, or a related field. (Master's degree preferred)
2. Proven experience (X years) in air cargo management, preferably in a leadership role.
3. In-depth knowledge of aviation regulations, cargo handling procedures, and international trade compliance.
4. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to make data-driven decisions.
5. Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities with a keen attention to detail.
6. Exceptional leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a diverse workforce.
7. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with stakeholders at all levels.
8. Proficiency in using transportation management systems (TMS) and other relevant software.
9. Proven ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
10. Knowledge of lean management principles and continuous improvement methodologies is a plus.
