Position Overview:
The Aviation Security Manager is responsible for overseeing and managing all aspects of aviation security within the transportation and logistics sector. This role requires a highly skilled professional with in-depth knowledge of aviation security regulations and procedures. The Aviation Security Manager will work closely with various stakeholders to develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive security programs to ensure the safety and security of all aviation operations.
Responsibilities:
1. Develop and implement aviation security policies, procedures, and programs in compliance with industry regulations, international standards, and best practices.
2. Conduct regular security risk assessments and audits to identify potential vulnerabilities and develop appropriate mitigation strategies.
3. Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure effective security measures are in place, including airlines, airport authorities, government agencies, and other relevant parties.
4. Monitor and enhance security operations, including access control systems, surveillance systems, and security screening procedures.
5. Provide leadership and guidance to security personnel, ensuring they are trained to handle security incidents effectively and efficiently.
6. Stay updated on the latest security technologies, trends, and regulations to ensure continuous improvement in security initiatives.
7. Collaborate with law enforcement agencies and regulatory bodies to address security concerns and maintain compliance with aviation security regulations.
8. Investigate security incidents, breaches, and irregularities, and implement corrective actions to prevent future occurrences.
9. Prepare security reports, including incident reports, risk assessments, and compliance reports, for management and regulatory agencies as required.
10. Conduct security awareness training programs for employees and stakeholders to promote a culture of security awareness and vigilance.
Qualifications:
1. Bachelor's degree in Aviation Management, Security Management, or a related field.
2. Proven experience in aviation security management, preferably within the transportation and logistics industry.
3. In-depth knowledge of aviation security regulations, international standards, and best practices (e.g., ICAO, TSA, EU regulations).
4. Strong understanding of security technologies, surveillance systems, access control systems, and screening procedures.
5. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills to assess security risks and develop effective mitigation strategies.
6. Exceptional leadership and communication skills to lead and inspire security personnel and collaborate with various stakeholders.
7. Ability to stay updated on industry trends, emerging threats, and regulatory changes to ensure compliance and continuous improvement.
8. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail to manage multiple projects, priorities, and deadlines effectively.
9. Ability to work under pressure and handle security incidents and emergencies with composure and professionalism.
10. Relevant certifications in aviation security management (e.g., Certified Aviation Security Professional) are highly desirable.
