Job Summary:
The Freight Auditor is responsible for ensuring accurate and timely auditing of freight invoices and related documentation. This role requires meticulous attention to detail, strong analytical skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with internal teams and external vendors to resolve discrepancies and discrepancies in freight billing. Key Responsibilities:

3. Identify and investigate billing errors, discrepancies, and exceptions, and work closely with carriers, vendors, and internal stakeholders to resolve issues.
4. Collaborate with the Transportation Planning team to ensure accurate recording and allocation of freight costs to appropriate accounts and cost centers.
5. Maintain accurate records of audit findings, resolutions, and cost recoveries.
6. Monitor and analyze freight payment data to identify trends, patterns, and potential areas for improvement.
7. Provide regular reports and analysis to management regarding audit results, cost savings, and process improvements.
8. Stay updated on industry regulations, best practices, and emerging trends related to freight auditing.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
1. Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Accounting, or a related field.
2. Proven experience (X years) working in transportation and logistics, specifically in freight auditing.
3. Strong understanding of transportation terms, freight rates, and industry practices.
4. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen eye for detail.
5. Proficient in using auditing software, transportation management systems (TMS), and MS Office Suite.
6. Ability to effectively communicate and negotiate with carriers, vendors, and internal stakeholders.
7. Strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
8. Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
9. Knowledge of accounting principles and experience with financial reconciliation.
10. Good understanding of regulatory compliance related to freight auditing.
11. Ability to adapt to changing priorities and meet strict deadlines.
