Job Description: Supply Chain Information Systems Manager
Position Overview:
The Supply Chain Information Systems Manager is responsible for overseeing and managing the information systems within the supply chain function of a transportation and logistics company. This role involves ensuring the efficient and accurate flow of information throughout the supply chain, optimizing system performance, and contributing to the company's overall operational effectiveness.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Develop and maintain a robust information systems strategy for the supply chain department, aligned with the company's overall objectives.
2. Implement and manage supply chain information systems, including but not limited to Warehouse Management Systems (WMS), Transportation Management Systems (TMS), and Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems.
3. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and analyze system requirements, ensuring the information systems meet the needs of various stakeholders within the supply chain.
4. Oversee system configuration, customization, and integration to ensure seamless data flow between different supply chain systems.
5. Monitor system performance, conduct regular audits, and implement necessary improvements to optimize operational efficiency and accuracy.
6. Provide technical support and training to supply chain personnel on the effective use of information systems, ensuring their proficiency in system functionalities.
7. Lead system upgrades, enhancements, and implementation of new modules or systems, ensuring minimal disruption to ongoing supply chain operations.
8. Collaborate with IT teams to resolve system issues, troubleshoot problems, and implement necessary fixes or enhancements.
9. Stay up-to-date with emerging technologies and industry trends in supply chain management and information systems, recommending innovative solutions to improve operational effectiveness.
10. Develop and maintain documentation, including user manuals, standard operating procedures, and system-related policies.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
1. Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Information Systems, or a related field.
2. Proven experience (X years) in managing information systems within the supply chain function, preferably in the transportation and logistics industry.
3. In-depth knowledge of supply chain management principles and practices, including procurement, inventory management, warehousing, and transportation.
4. Strong understanding of supply chain information systems, such as WMS, TMS, and ERP systems, and their functionalities.
5. Proficient in system configuration, customization, and the ability to integrate different supply chain systems.
6. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify system-related issues and implement effective solutions.
7. Strong project management skills, with the ability to lead system upgrades, enhancements, and implementation projects.
8. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and train end-users on system functionalities.
9. Up-to-date knowledge of emerging technologies and industry trends in supply chain management and information systems.
