Position Overview:
The Supply Chain Sustainability Manager is responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing sustainable practices across the transportation and logistics supply chain. This role plays a critical part in ensuring ethical, environmentally friendly, and socially responsible supply chain operations.
Responsibilities:
1. Develop and implement sustainable supply chain strategies, policies, and initiatives to minimize environmental impact and enhance social responsibility.
2. Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to identify and evaluate potential risks, opportunities, and improvement areas in the supply chain sustainability domain.
3. Monitor and assess suppliers' compliance with sustainability standards, conducting audits and evaluations as necessary.
4. Establish and maintain relationships with suppliers, fostering collaboration and driving sustainable practices throughout the supply chain.
5. Analyze supply chain data and performance indicators to identify areas for improvement and implement strategies to optimize sustainability efforts.
6. Develop and deliver training programs to enhance awareness and understanding of sustainable supply chain practices among employees and suppliers.
7. Stay up-to-date with industry trends, regulations, and best practices related to supply chain sustainability, and proactively implement changes as necessary.
8. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, such as procurement, operations, and compliance, to ensure alignment and integration of sustainable practices across the supply chain.
9. Prepare reports and presentations to communicate sustainability performance, progress, and achievements to internal and external stakeholders.
10. Participate in sustainability-related conferences, seminars, and forums to enhance knowledge and contribute to industry-wide initiatives.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
1. Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Environmental Sciences, Sustainability, or a related field.
2. Proven experience in supply chain management, with a focus on sustainability.
3. Strong knowledge of sustainability principles, frameworks, and best practices within the transportation and logistics industry.
4. Familiarity with relevant compliance standards and regulations, such as ISO 14001, ISO 26000, and the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI).
5. Excellent analytical skills, with the ability to collect, analyze, and interpret data to drive sustainable decision-making and performance improvement.
6. Strong project management abilities, with the capacity to plan, execute, and monitor sustainability initiatives effectively.
7. Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, enabling effective collaboration with internal and external stakeholders at all levels.
8. Ability to conduct audits and assessments to evaluate suppliers' compliance with sustainability standards.
9. Proficient in using sustainability-related software and tools to track, analyze, and report on sustainability performance metrics.
10. Strong commitment to corporate social responsibility and a passion for driving positive change within the supply chain.
