Job Summary:
The Supply Chain Engineer is responsible for managing and optimizing the end-to-end supply chain operations to ensure efficient and cost-effective movement of goods and materials. In this role, the Supply Chain Engineer will be involved in designing and implementing supply chain processes, analyzing data, identifying areas for improvement, and developing strategies to enhance overall supply chain performance.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Design and implement supply chain processes to ensure smooth flow of goods and materials from suppliers to customers.
2. Evaluate existing supply chain systems, identify bottlenecks, and propose process improvements to increase efficiency and reduce costs.
3. Analyze supply chain data, including demand forecasts, inventory levels, transportation costs, and supplier performance, to identify trends and opportunities for optimization.
4. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including procurement, production, and distribution, to ensure effective coordination and alignment of supply chain activities.
5. Develop strategies to optimize inventory levels, minimize stock-outs, and reduce lead times to meet customer demands.
6. Collaborate with suppliers and logistics partners to streamline transportation operations, negotiate contracts, and ensure on-time delivery.
7. Utilize supply chain software and tools to track and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs), such as on-time delivery, order accuracy, and inventory turnover.
8. Conduct cost and risk analysis to evaluate the financial and operational impact of supply chain decisions.
9. Stay updated with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in supply chain management to drive continuous improvement.
10. Provide support and guidance to junior supply chain team members, as needed.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
1. Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
2. Proven experience in supply chain management, preferably in a transportation or logistics environment.
3. Strong knowledge of supply chain principles, including demand planning, inventory management, transportation, and warehousing.
4. Proficient in using supply chain software, such as Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems, Warehouse Management Systems (WMS), and Transportation Management Systems (TMS).
5. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret complex data and draw actionable insights.
6. Strong project management abilities with the capability to handle multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
7. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with internal teams, suppliers, and logistics partners.
8. Detail-oriented mindset with a focus on accuracy and precision in analyzing and reporting supply chain data.
9. Ability to work independently and as part of a team, demonstrating a proactive and results-driven attitude.
10. Knowledge of Lean or Six Sigma methodologies is a plus.
