Job Description: Supply Chain Manager
Position Summary:
The Supply Chain Manager is responsible for overseeing and managing all aspects of the transportation and logistics supply chain operations within the organization. This role requires a strong understanding of supply chain management principles, exceptional leadership skills, and a strategic mindset. The Supply Chain Manager will be responsible for optimizing processes, ensuring efficient inventory management, and driving continuous improvement initiatives to maximize supply chain performance.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Develop and implement supply chain strategies to optimize efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and customer satisfaction.
2. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to forecast demand, plan inventory levels, and ensure timely delivery of goods and services.
3. Oversee the transportation and logistics functions, including freight management, carrier selection, and negotiation of contracts.
4. Evaluate and select suppliers, ensuring adherence to quality standards and timely delivery of materials.
5. Monitor and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) to identify areas for improvement and implement appropriate corrective actions.
6. Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance supply chain processes, reduce costs, and increase operational efficiency.
7. Manage and develop a high-performing supply chain team, providing guidance, training, and mentoring as required.
8. Monitor and manage inventory levels to ensure optimum stock availability while minimizing excess or obsolete inventory.
9. Collaborate with internal stakeholders to develop and implement supply chain strategies aligned with business objectives.
10. Ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and industry standards related to transportation and logistics operations.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
1. Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field.
2. Proven experience (X years) as a Supply Chain Manager or a similar role within the transportation and logistics industry.
3. In-depth knowledge of supply chain management principles, practices, and industry trends.
4. Strong leadership and people management skills, with the ability to motivate and develop a team.
5. Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to make data-driven decisions.
6. Exceptional organizational and time management abilities, with a strong attention to detail.
7. Proficient in using supply chain management software and other relevant tools.
8. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
9. Strong negotiation and contract management skills.
10. Knowledge of relevant regulations and compliance standards within the transportation and logistics industry.
