Job Overview:
The Logistics Engineer will be responsible for designing, implementing, and optimizing logistics processes to ensure efficient transportation and distribution of goods. They will analyze data and collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and execute logistics strategies that align with business objectives. The Logistics Engineer will also play a key role in identifying and implementing continuous improvement initiatives to optimize supply chain operations.
Responsibilities:
1. Analyze logistics data to identify bottlenecks, inefficiencies, and areas for improvement in the supply chain network.
2. Design and implement logistics processes, systems, and procedures to enhance operational efficiency and reduce costs.
3. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including procurement, warehouse, and transportation, to develop and execute logistics strategies.
4. Conduct feasibility studies and cost-benefit analyses for proposed process improvements.
5. Utilize logistics software and tools to monitor, track, and optimize transportation routes, inventory levels, and delivery schedules.
6. Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards related to logistics operations.
7. Continuously monitor and evaluate key performance indicators (KPIs) to drive operational excellence and achieve service level targets.
8. Identify and resolve logistics-related issues and provide timely solutions to minimize disruptions in the supply chain.
9. Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including suppliers, carriers, and customers, to ensure smooth logistics operations.
10. Keep abreast of industry trends, technologies, and best practices in logistics and supply chain management.
Qualifications:
1. Bachelor's degree in industrial engineering, supply chain management, logistics, or a related field.
2. Proven experience in logistics engineering, preferably in a fast-paced transportation or distribution environment.
3. Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, and analyze large sets of data.
4. Proficient in using logistics software, such as transportation management systems (TMS) and warehouse management systems (WMS).
5. In-depth knowledge of logistics processes, including transportation, warehousing, inventory management, and order fulfillment.
6. Familiarity with lean management principles and continuous improvement methodologies.
7. Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities to resolve complex logistics challenges.
8. Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
9. Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy and quality in logistics data analysis and reporting.
10. Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
