Job Overview:
As a Sales Forecast Analyst, your primary responsibility will be to analyze sales data and market trends to provide accurate and reliable sales forecasts for our organization. You will work closely with the Sales and Marketing teams to ensure that sales targets and goals are met by providing insightful analysis and recommendations. Your expertise in market research, data analysis, and forecasting will enable you to contribute to the company's strategic decision-making process.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collect, analyze, and interpret sales data from various sources to develop accurate sales forecasts.
- Monitor market conditions, industry trends, and competitor activities to identify potential opportunities or threats to sales performance.
- Collaborate with the Sales and Marketing teams to understand and align business objectives and sales strategies.
- Prepare and present detailed sales forecasts and reports to management, highlighting key insights and recommendations.
- Conduct regular reviews of historical sales data, identifying patterns and trends to improve forecasting accuracy.
- Evaluate the impact of marketing initiatives, promotions, and other factors on sales performance.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams to gather relevant data and insights, ensuring collaborative and accurate forecasting.
- Develop and maintain forecasting models, incorporating predictive analytics to enhance accuracy and efficiency.
- Stay updated with industry best practices, tools, and technologies related to sales forecasting and analysis.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Statistics, Economics, or a related field.
- Proven experience as a Sales Forecast Analyst or similar role, preferably in the retail industry.
- Strong analytical and quantitative skills, with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of information.
- Proficient in statistical analysis and data modeling techniques, using tools such as Excel, SQL, or statistical software (e.g., R, SAS).
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to translate complex data into meaningful insights and actionable recommendations.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to present complex information in a clear and concise manner.
- Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy in data analysis and forecasting.
- Ability to work independently and within a team, managing multiple priorities and meeting deadlines.
- Knowledge of retail industry dynamics, market trends, and sales forecasting methodologies.
- Familiarity with CRM and ERP systems, preferably Salesforce and SAP.
