Job Summary:
The Sales Engineer will work closely with the sales team and be responsible for providing technical expertise and support during the sales process. The primary focus of this role is to understand customer requirements, recommend appropriate solutions, and effectively communicate the value and benefits of the product or service to potential clients. The Sales Engineer will play a crucial role in driving sales growth and meeting revenue targets.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Collaborate with the sales team to identify and understand customer needs and develop tailored solutions.
2. Conduct product demonstrations and presentations to showcase the features, benefits, and technical capabilities of the product or service.
3. Provide technical guidance and support to customers throughout the sales process, addressing any technical queries or concerns.
4. Assist in the preparation of technical proposals, quotations, and tenders in response to customer requirements.
5. Conduct technical assessments and evaluations to determine the feasibility and compatibility of the product with the customer's existing infrastructure.
6. Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, ensuring customer satisfaction and acting as a point of contact for all technical inquiries.
7. Collaborate with the sales team to develop sales strategies, pricing models, and negotiation tactics to secure new business opportunities.
8. Stay up-to-date with industry trends, competitor offerings, and emerging technologies to provide informed recommendations to clients.
9. Provide post-sales technical support, including troubleshooting, resolving issues, and coordinating with the relevant internal teams.
10. Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of sales activities, customer interactions, and technical specifications in the CRM system.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
1. Bachelor's degree in Engineering, preferably in a relevant field such as Electrical, Mechanical, or Industrial Engineering.
2. Proven experience in a sales engineering or technical sales role, preferably in the retail or similar industry.
3. Strong technical knowledge and understanding of relevant products, systems, and technologies.
4. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to effectively convey technical information to non-technical audiences.
5. Demonstrated ability to build and maintain strong customer relationships, with a focus on customer satisfaction and problem-solving.
6. Proactive and self-motivated with a results-oriented mindset.
7. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify customer needs and propose appropriate solutions.
8. Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment, as well as independently when required.
9. Proficiency in using CRM software and other sales-related tools to manage customer interactions and track sales activities.
10. Willingness to travel occasionally to meet with clients and attend industry events.
