Job Description:
The Retail Research Manager is responsible for overseeing and executing all aspects of retail research activities within the organization. This role requires exceptional analytical skills and a deep understanding of the retail industry. The Retail Research Manager will work closely with the retail management team to gather, analyze, and interpret data to provide valuable insights and recommendations that support strategic decision-making and enhance business performance.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Develop and implement research projects to gather data on retail industry trends, customer behavior, market dynamics, and competitor analysis.
2. Collect and analyze relevant data to identify patterns, trends, and opportunities within the retail sector.
3. Utilize various research methodologies and tools to conduct market research, such as surveys, focus groups, and interviews.
4. Keep abreast of industry news, market developments, and emerging trends to provide timely insights and recommendations.
5. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify research needs and align research objectives with business goals.
6. Present research findings, insights, and recommendations to key stakeholders in a clear and concise manner.
7. Develop and maintain databases, data dashboards, and other tools to track and report on key performance indicators.
8. Monitor and analyze sales data, customer feedback, and other relevant metrics to assess the effectiveness of retail strategies.
9. Stay updated with advancements in research techniques and tools to continually improve research processes and methodologies.
10. Ensure compliance with ethical standards, data protection regulations, and research best practices.
Qualifications and Skills:
1. Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Economics, or a related field. A master's degree is advantageous.
2. Proven experience in retail research, market research, or related roles.
3. Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, analyze, and interpret complex data sets.
4. Proficiency in using statistical analysis software and data visualization tools.
5. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex findings in a clear and concise manner.
6. Strong attention to detail and ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
7. Solid understanding of retail industry dynamics, trends, and customer behavior.
8. Ability to work collaboratively in cross-functional teams and build relationships with stakeholders.
9. Proficiency in using Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
10. Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking skills.
