Job Summary:
The Retail Supply Chain Manager plays a critical role in managing and optimizing the supply chain operations within a retail environment. This position is responsible for overseeing the end-to-end process of product sourcing, planning, purchasing, and inventory management, to ensure seamless coordination between suppliers, distribution centers, and retail stores. The Retail Supply Chain Manager is expected to streamline processes and implement best practices to enhance efficiency, minimize costs, and maximize profitability.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Develop and implement strategic supply chain plans and initiatives to improve operational effectiveness and drive cost efficiencies.
2. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including procurement, logistics, and retail operations, to ensure effective coordination and communication throughout the supply chain process.
3. Oversee the procurement process, including identifying reliable suppliers, negotiating contracts, and managing supplier relationships to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery of goods.
4. Monitor inventory levels, analyze demand patterns, and utilize forecasting techniques to optimize inventory planning and minimize stockouts or excess inventory.
5. Establish and maintain effective inventory control systems, including cycle counting, physical inventories, and reconciliation processes.
6. Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance supply chain processes, reduce lead times, and improve overall operational efficiency.
7. Conduct regular analysis of supply chain performance metrics, such as order fulfillment rates, on-time delivery, and supplier performance, to identify areas for improvement and take necessary corrective actions.
8. Collaborate with the retail operations team to ensure accurate and timely execution of store allocations, replenishment, and transfers, based on demand and sales forecasts.
9. Implement and maintain systems to track and manage product lifecycle, including product introductions, promotions, and end-of-life strategies.
10. Stay informed about market trends, industry developments, and emerging technologies to identify opportunities for process improvements and innovation within the supply chain function.
Qualifications and Skills:
1. Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, logistics, business administration, or a related field.
2. Minimum of 5 years of experience in retail supply chain management, preferably within the retail industry.
3. Strong knowledge and understanding of end-to-end supply chain processes and best practices.
4. Proven track record in implementing supply chain optimization initiatives and driving operational efficiencies.
5. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret complex data and make data-driven decisions.
6. Proficient in using supply chain management software and systems.
7. Strong negotiation and vendor management skills.
8. Exceptional organizational and time management abilities, with a keen attention to detail.
9. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with internal stakeholders and external suppliers.
10. Ability to work under pressure, prioritize tasks, and meet tight deadlines.
