Job Description: Real Estate Development Lease Compliance Auditor
Position Overview:
The Real Estate Development Lease Compliance Auditor is responsible for ensuring contract and lease compliance within the Real Estate Development department. This role plays a critical part in safeguarding the organization's interests by meticulously reviewing lease agreements, identifying discrepancies, and ensuring adherence to contractual obligations. The Lease Compliance Auditor will work closely with internal stakeholders, including legal, finance, and operations teams, to maintain compliance and mitigate potential risks.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Conduct thorough audits of lease agreements to ensure compliance with contractual terms, legal requirements, and industry standards.
2. Review lease documentation, amendments, and related legal documents to identify any inconsistencies, discrepancies, or non-compliance with regulations.
3. Collaborate with internal teams to gather necessary information and documentation required for lease compliance audits.
4. Analyze lease data and financial information to verify accuracy and identify any discrepancies or financial risks.
5. Track and maintain lease compliance records, ensuring all supporting documentation is properly recorded and filed.
6. Prepare comprehensive audit reports outlining findings, recommendations, and corrective actions required for non-compliant leases.
7. Collaborate with legal and finance teams to resolve lease-related disputes and negotiate lease amendments or modifications as necessary.
8. Stay updated on relevant regulatory changes, industry best practices, and lease compliance standards to ensure ongoing compliance.
9. Provide guidance and support to internal teams regarding lease compliance matters, answering queries and assisting in resolving any compliance-related issues.
10. Assist in developing and implementing lease compliance policies and procedures to enhance overall lease management practices.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
1. Bachelor's degree in Real Estate, Business Administration, Finance, or a related field.
2. Proven experience in lease administration, lease compliance, or related roles within the real estate or property management industry.
3. In-depth knowledge of lease agreements, lease accounting principles, and relevant legal requirements.
4. Strong analytical skills with the ability to review complex lease documentation and financial data accurately.
5. Exceptional attention to detail and strong organizational skills to manage multiple audits simultaneously.
6. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to effectively collaborate with internal stakeholders and external parties.
7. Proficient in using lease management software, database systems, and Microsoft Office Suite.
