Job Description: Real Estate Development Affordable Housing Developer
Position Overview:
The Real Estate Development Affordable Housing Developer is responsible for managing and overseeing the development of affordable housing projects within the real estate development division. This role requires excellent project management skills, in-depth knowledge of affordable housing regulations, and the ability to collaborate with various stakeholders to ensure successful project completion.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Develop and implement strategies to identify, acquire, and develop affordable housing projects in accordance with organizational goals and objectives.
2. Conduct thorough market research to identify potential development opportunities and assess feasibility.
3. Collaborate with the acquisition team to identify suitable properties for affordable housing development.
4. Manage the entire development process, including project planning, design, permitting, construction, and final delivery of affordable housing projects.
5. Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations related to affordable housing development.
6. Oversee the preparation and submission of funding applications, securing necessary financing for projects.
7. Collaborate with architects, engineers, contractors, and other professionals to develop design plans and ensure adherence to project schedules and budgets.
8. Coordinate with property management team to ensure seamless transition from development to operations.
9. Manage and negotiate contracts with vendors, contractors, and consultants to ensure cost-effective project delivery.
10. Provide regular project updates to senior management, stakeholders, and investors.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
1. Bachelor's degree in Real Estate, Urban Planning, Architecture, or related field. Relevant certifications or advanced degree preferred.
2. Minimum of 5 years of experience in real estate development, specifically affordable housing.
3. In-depth knowledge of affordable housing regulations, funding sources, and subsidy programs.
4. Strong project management skills, with a demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
5. Proven track record of successfully delivering affordable housing projects on time and within budget.
6. Excellent financial acumen, including experience in financial modeling, budgeting, and financial analysis.
7. Strong negotiation and contract management skills.
8. Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with various stakeholders.
9. Proficient in using project management software and other relevant tools.
10. Ability to work independently and make sound decisions in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
