Job Summary:
The Property Management Student Housing Manager is responsible for the overall management and operations of student housing properties within the real estate portfolio. This role requires coordinating and overseeing all aspects of the student housing community to ensure a safe, comfortable, and conducive living environment for residents. The Student Housing Manager will need to effectively communicate with residents, staff, and vendors to maintain high levels of customer service and satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Manage all aspects of student housing properties, including leasing, maintenance, financials, and resident relations.
2. Oversee the leasing process, including marketing, showing units, screening prospective tenants, and executing lease agreements.
3. Ensure rent collection, resolve delinquencies, and implement appropriate actions in accordance with leasing policies.
4. Coordinate with maintenance staff to address and resolve resident maintenance requests promptly.
5. Conduct regular property inspections to ensure cleanliness, safety, and compliance with regulations and policies.
6. Develop and maintain positive relationships with residents, addressing concerns, and providing exceptional customer service.
7. Enforce property rules and regulations, ensuring a peaceful living environment for all residents.
8. Collaborate with vendors and contractors to ensure timely completion of repairs and maintenance projects.
9. Prepare and manage property budgets, monitor expenses, and provide regular financial reports to the property management supervisor.
10. Stay updated with local housing laws, regulations, and market trends to ensure compliance and maximize property performance.
11. Assist in the development and implementation of marketing strategies to attract new tenants and maintain high occupancy rates.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
1. Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Real Estate, Property Management, or a related field.
2. Proven experience in property management, preferably in student housing or residential property management.
3. Strong knowledge of property management principles, leasing practices, and fair housing regulations.
4. Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with residents, staff, and vendors.
5. Ability to effectively handle conflict resolution and maintain professionalism under challenging situations.
6. Proficient in using property management software and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
7. Exceptional organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize and multitask effectively.
8. Strong financial acumen with experience in budgeting, rent collection, and financial reporting.
9. Demonstrated problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
10. A valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
