Job Summary:
The Power Plant Data Analyst is responsible for analyzing and interpreting data related to power plant operations. The individual in this role will play a vital role in driving operational efficiency and continuous improvement by providing accurate and actionable insights through data analysis. The Power Plant Data Analyst will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to identify trends, patterns, and anomalies in the data, and will contribute to the development of strategies to optimize plant performance.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Collect and analyze data from various sources, including but not limited to power plant equipment and systems, performance indicators, and maintenance records.
2. Identify patterns and trends in the data to assess the overall performance of the power plant and its individual components.
3. Develop and maintain dashboards, reports, and visualizations to effectively communicate data analysis findings to stakeholders.
4. Conduct root cause analysis to identify factors affecting power plant efficiency, resilience, and reliability.
5. Collaborate with engineers, technicians, and other stakeholders to understand operational challenges and provide data-driven recommendations for improvement.
6. Support the implementation of new data collection methods and tools to enhance data accuracy and reliability.
7. Monitor and evaluate key performance indicators (KPIs) to track power plant performance against established goals and benchmarks.
8. Participate in the development and implementation of predictive maintenance and condition-based monitoring strategies.
9. Stay updated with industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies in power plant operations and data analysis.
10. Adhere to all safety protocols and regulations to ensure a safe working environment.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
1. Bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science, data analytics, or a related field.
2. Proven experience in data analysis, preferably in power plant operations or a related industry.
3. Proficient in data visualization tools and techniques, such as Tableau, Power BI, or similar tools.
4. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to identify and interpret trends in large datasets.
5. Proficient in statistical analysis and data modeling techniques.
6. Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel or similar spreadsheet software.
7. Familiarity with programming languages (e.g., Python, R) and database querying (e.g., SQL) is preferred.
8. Excellent communication skills, with the ability to present complex data analysis findings in a clear and concise manner to both technical and non-technical audiences.
9. Detail-oriented with a strong focus on accuracy and data integrity.
